December weather led to 13% decline in North Dakota oil and gas production

North Dakota oil production fell 13% in December and fell below 1 million barrels per day for only the fourth month since early 2017.
The sharp drop, however, was expected after the state was hit by bad weather in December. A huge storm followed by a big cold snap crippled production.
North Dakota, the nation’s third-largest oil-producing state, pumped 956,288 barrels of oil in December, down 13% from nearly 1.1 million in November. This is the lowest production since 909,000 barrels per day last April, another month marked by bad weather.
